So next week I'm off to Khurusapha to apply for a provisional teaching permit - permission to teach without a licence. It's item 15 on the list on their website (I'm not allowed to post the link). I've got every item on their checklist. My school has asked me to apply in person. We want to get this (and then later my work permit from the local labour office) before I start work in the middle of August. I'm sure I've read before on the old site that you can apply in person and that it's processed on the same day when you do. My questions are:

1. Can you?
2. How quickly is it processed when you apply in person? (Same day?)
3. Is their office in the education ministry up in the dusit area of Bangkok (this seems to be the case from the map on their website).
4. How easy is it to find the right person/department once you enter the building?
5. Anyone able to offer any answers, help or advice.

1. Yes, you can do that alone, of course with all the needed paperwork.
2. If you're lucky you can pick it up on the same day in the afternoon. ( Try to be there early and take a number. ( There's free coffee !!)
3. It's in Dusit area, please see map: https://wego.here.com/directions/mix/Khurusapha-the-Teachers-Council-of-Thailand,-Dusit,-Dusit-10300:764w4rqr-0303fede9474433c8d6c1b547f6748d8/Khurusapha-the-Teachers-Council-of-Thailand,-Dusit,-Dusit-10300:764w4rqr-0303fede9474433c8d6c1b547f6748d8?map=13.76701,100.50767,19,normal

4. Once you've arrived, it's the left building when you're standing in front of the whole complex, go inside and take a number. While waiting, have a free coffee, or Ovaltine, make sure that you've got all documents ready. When they call your number submit all documents, they'll tell you how long it takes. I could pick mine up only two hours later, even with an hour lunch between.

5. Even when you'll be surrounded by stickers saying: ": We love teachers", there's a strange guy with white gloves who might take your documents. Please try to avoid him, if not possible please do not annoy this guy, he might freak out and scream at you.   rock on 2

Best of luck !!   thumbs up 2
