It's in Sichuan province. It seems OK for a uni gig, which are not very well paid, but you can make some decent money on the side teaching privates.

Check out the China sub-forum on daveseslcafe. There's a plethora of posts on there about salaries for uni TEFL-type positions.

BTW aren't you a certified teacher now? If so you could be making 20k+ in an international program! Very Happy

Thank you very much for your detailed information. I've tried and applied for my license this year, but will have to wait until the 8th of July this year to go back and apply for it. All went well until she checked on her PC when the provisional TL was issued and that didn't matter what was written in the documents.

When I wrote the thread, I had no idea if the school will sign/has signed a new contract and right after posting, I found out that they did and I'll start tomorrow.

My plan now is to wait until I receive my license which could take another six months and try my luck.

Thanks also for the China subforum, will definitely have a look and see. Living here is sometimes crazy because you never know what's going to happen. Had other jobs already and have to tell them that I won't make it.

As an older American friend once said: Thailand is like a very long fence and sometimes there's a door in the fence. Now I think I understand what he meant with it.

BTW, how did your employment end? I hope that you immediately found a new job and all is fine with you.

I just remember a post where an employer did something strange to you. I truly hope that you're okay now.

Best of luck and thanks again. wai
