Good evening folks.

I have a pressing issue that needs an urgent answer. I have been informed by the admin at my school that my MA isn't good enough to renew my provisional teaching license, and that it cannot now be used on its own. They said Khrusapha have requested that in addition to the MA, a BA together with the transcript must be provided. Has anyone here heard of this new rule? I'm asking because when I went for the first provisional license, I used the MA. That was in February last year, and there was no talk of it not being appropriate. Also, I know of other teachers at different schools who are also using either an MA or an MBA without any issues.

Thanks in advance for your insightful comments.

Without knowing your specific case I can only guess that you were lucky last year and this year less so.

On separate note, why not supply the BA and MA documents?

Comparison with last year and with different schools is a sure way to go mad in the land of smiles. Go yourself to the Bangkok office with a Thai interpreter if you wish to stay, but my advice is to provide everything that the authorities are asking for.

Thanks. I will provide both, but I haven't got the originals of the BA as they were lost and I didn't think I'd be needing them any time soon. However, I've already applied for replacements, and they should be here in a few weeks time. I've been handed the paperwork to go to Khrusapha by myself to ask why the change. I'm presently on the way there.

They didn't require the BA. Just handed in the docs, and they checked and highlighted the necessary info on my MA, handed back the originals together with my passport. And asked me if I wanted to pick it up or have it mailed.
